Which MBTI type is the most intelligent?

Intelligent: “Having good understanding or a high mental capacity.”

Let me start off by saying, I do not believe that personality types has a huge play in deciding how intelligent you are. I believe genetics and environmental factors are the main influences on intelligence, although I do believe your personality type plays a very small part in intelligence also, and due to the high demand for this question, I shall answer it.

Let’s start by figuring out the type via the letters. Introverts are more likely to be intelligent than extroverts, as introverts spend more time figuring things out whilst extroverts don’t have the time or concentration to focus on these things. Introverts prefer to get their energy internally, and hence have far more time to think about serious issues which help to develop a high level of intelligence. Secondly, intuitive types spend more time thinking about deeper issues and analytical things, which is not done by sensors. I mean, would the person who has a deep intuition be better in a game of chess? Yes, and they would also be deemed more intelligent, whether this should be socially accepted or not. Thirdly, thinkers are regarded as more intelligent than feelers, as they keep their feelings out of decisions, and whilst working everything is done in a rational fashion. Finally, judgers are regarded as more intelligent as they spend more time focusing on the future than perceivers, and organization certainly helps when

trying to learn new things.

This article has proven that INTJ’s are regarded as the most intelligent type. INTJ’s are the type that discover new advancements in science, maths, etc. so it makes a lot of sense that they are regarded as the most intelligent. An example of an INTJ is Sir Isaac Newton, a fundamental influencing person on the field of science. He created three laws of motion for the world of physics, and is often regarded as one of the most intelligent scientists in history.

Well, there’s your answer everyone! Although this is a controversy question about whether intelligence can be influenced by MBTI, I have decided to answer it anyway, as many of you want to know the answer. Thanks for reading, and stay tuned! 😀

Excellent article, needs to be read by many people!!

  2. Mnov says:

Lol what…Einstein, please. Completely revolved the entire physics world. Everything, every second of vision in your world obeys Einstein’s law of E = MC(squared). An INTP, btw. Nobody wants this comparison. If you want to do it, do it right or don’t do it at all.

    • Hannibal says:

I agree to an extent, P’s have the problem of being disorganized though and implementation of their ideas out in the world therefore J’s will usually have more of the credit. J’s usually finish their ideas and move on and are more diciplined about them. Einstein got lucky for being able to implement his Ideas so greatly to be recognized so well. P’s are known as thinkers while J’s are doers meaning that even when a P has more ideas and plans a J will have more of it out in the world. A P’s thoughts just never stop.

      • tatl33 says:

Yeah, which sort of sucks for perceivers- I have heard so many assumptions like “He is intelligent but he doesn’t try hard” about some perceivers… which I think is a pretty dumb asusmption.

    • Psolver07 says:

Einstein also said that the measure of intelligence is the ability to change. Change requires action, J’s take more action than P’s. Just a thought, I’m still undecided on that quote.

      • tatl33 says:

Interesting thoughts. Do you think J’s or P’s are more intelligent?

      • Navy (INTP) says:

It doesn’t mean that INTPs didn’t do things at all. Remember, quality > quantity 😉

        • mtndev says:

Js are also perfectionists, making the quality of their work much more in line with their inner vision. Ni ideas are much more revolutionary and paradigm shattering. I mean Newton came up with three simple laws for the physical world which are universally true (in a time when everything was explained as God) and technically his laws were so great, Einstein himself focused on expanding on the law of gravity. 😉

          • Anonymous says:

I think the way that you are comparing Newton and Einstein so superficially shows irrationality of J types. Quick to make judgement without really perceiving the data. Needless to say comparing the two is not really possible or meaningful in this context at all.
Studys show P is more highly correlated than J with intelligence. Why? Js would have an answer in mind through intuition then rationalize it, while Ps dont have a set answer, but deduct logically from the data.

      • Anonymous says:

Ps are flexible and change more easily. As an INTP I can think rings around all the INTJs I know. INTJs just accomplish more because once something works in our heads, we don’t need to make it happen. Js tie themselves down, they aren’t as open-minded.

I’ve heard Newton typed as INTP.

  3. jerm says:

In my opinion, from taking mechanical engineering, calculus, and chemistry/thermodynamics; Newton’s contributions far outweigh Einstein’s Relativity and photoelectric effect. I see it as being analogous to the impact of: the invention of the wheel vs a modern computer. One is a unique vision vs unique vision/innovation built upon existing science.

So is Ooga Booga that discovered fire more inteligent than all pyrotechicians after him? Is Ooga Booga more inteligent that the man who discovered distliation because its build on the discovery of fire?

  4. Jaik says:

    > Having good understanding

Seems to be more INTP who know the system as a whole, they don’t strive for the answers (INTJ) – they more like to know the whole eg. mathematical system rather than the answer.
Perhaps only focusing on the answer helps INTJ’s to ace the IQ test.

    I don’t know.

    • Emma Zunz says:

The irresistible need for answers may very well lead you to know the system in the deepest way possible. But not only that. It then leads to using the system to reach whatever objective you have in mind.

    • Michaela says:

      Intp’s score higher iq
      I’m intj… always intj
But still a bit dumb. I love reading, writing and memorizing poems and articles for fun. I’m also good at math and always the highest scorer in class.
But when I have an iq test, I get so nervous and mess up all the time… scared that it’ll he lower than what I should get… so yeah, I’m a bit silly.

    • Anonymous says:

INTPs score highest on IQ tests.

  5. Sarah says:

F’s have more emotional intelligence than T’s and read people better. Does that not have something to do with intelligence. Also most of the F’s I have met are far more logical than the T’s. The T’s are behind because they have to think it out first. He he.

  6. Aimee says:

Statistically, INTJs have the highest collective IQ but IQ is only a narrow way to test intelligence and only one type of intelligence. IQ tests tend to be intuitive biast. Does that mean that sensors are less intelligent? Not necessarily. Introverts are not necessarily more intelligent than extroverts. Thinkers and not necessarily more intelligent than feelers.

IQ has absolutely nothing to do with social skills or practial skills. There are plenty of people with high IQs who have done nothing with their lives and vice versa – people with ‘average intelligence’ who have become successful. Although it is a good relation for intelligence potential. People with IQs higher than 130 are usually undoubtedly gifted.

Einstein was an INTP. Marilyn Vos Savant, person who score highest IQ score was apparently an ENTP.

    • As an INTJ, I can confirm some ENTPs in having the highest iqs as well as other Rationals (INTP, INTJ and ENTJ). Nonetheless, ANY Rational (NT) will without dispute have the highest iqs. Seeing how scarce NTs are, I will confirm that we (Rationals) will always have the highest intelligence and must expand; our expansion of global dominance resulting from combined and well-strategized efforts.

      Let us reclaim Earth!!

        ohhhh crap watch out F’s

      • another INTP wasting time on the Internet says:

Ooooh I disagree. What’s your evidence? Here’s mine: The smartest people I’ve ever met (I won’t talk IQ for the sake of their privacy, but let’s just say that it’s impossible according to the bell curve statistical model that I would know four people with scores above this parameter) include an ENFP, an INFJ, and two whose MBTI/Jungian types I don’t know. That’s 1/2 Feelers for you. Also, I know some other very smart people, as in 1 out of 10,000 smart, who are Sensors. I could have taken a stab at the MBTI types of the two whom I said I didn’t know—but I only wanted to cite as evidence those about whose MBTIs I was certain. I know I didn’t mistype the ENFP or INFJ. Because I swear, they could be none other… especially the ENFP. 😉

  7. Anonymous says:

Those who disagreed are probably just jealous of INTJs 😛

    • mtndev says:

Ni is far more adept at understanding the big picture and its far reaching implications. We like answers because of Te, which makes judgements of the inner systems accuracy based off external rationalisations and logical progression. Answers also help Te realise the externalisation of the Ni vision, rather than just thinking about it. Perfect actualisation (intj) vs impossibly perfect visualisation (INTP). Intelligence without utility is about as valuable as utility without intelligence. Which is why intelligence is determined on a basis of contribution. INTPs can be intelligent, but inability to accept conclusions is damning, especially in regards to utility. An idea without an application or useful constant is never going to be used. Einstein aside of course. The man understood the importance of utility and actualisation.

      • Anonymous says:

Actually INTPs do reach conclusions, and those conclusions are reached because fhey are true. INTJs would settle for a good enough answer to pursue a goal, but INTPs will keep pushing their minds until they get to the holy grail, which is the truth of the matter.

        • Anonymous says:

Lol intjs settle? Sure thats what you think(btw is this your true matter of conclusion?). Literally any type can reach conclusions of whatever they think its “matter”. stop being such snow flake lol

Reality is subjective, so great intelligence has great value to the INTP. Js just don’t get it.

Hello I want to ask a question Is there a scientific source confirms that are more intelligent personalities please provide me with the source and thank you

  9. Anonymous says:

This is an extremely closed minded article. It indicates that there is only one type of intelligence, which is not the case. Although it has been mentioned in the comments that this only refers to IQ test results, that distinction should be made from the very beginning.

Intelligence is highly subjective, and attempting to measure it creates bias. IQ tests measure a very small range of intelligence that does not account for the many other types. This type of intelligence testing completely disregards the ability to read others, to think philosophically, to think morally, etc. It is really upsetting to see that people only believe that one type of intelligence exists.

    • tatl33 says:

  13. Sebastian says:

I agree with the above poster, when it comes to raw intelligence, INTPs rule prime. IQ as currently defined pertains to abstract intelligence, ability to understand concepts and theorize, the main characteristic of the INTPs. NOT the ability to gather information, NOT the ability to use it even, and NOT the ability to achieve in life. If you are talking about street smarts, then it’s probably INTJs.
Even if the mentioned IQ test is 15 questions only, when the number of people who take it becomes big, correlations with what the test measures emerge. ex. IQ of individuals is weakly correlated with their income, IQ of countries is strongly correlated with GDP. I also see that it’s results are expected and logical, like ESFJs, the opposites of INTPs tail the list.
I provide Gottfried Leibniz as a counterexample to Isaac Newton, regarding Newton’s most intellectual achievement (calculus), while Newton had a formal education in mathematics from an early age thus had the enormous advantage of brain wiring for mathematics, and was surrounded by the mathematics community, Leibniz who worked in isolation, was introduced to mathematics late in life and took it as hobby, co-discovered calculus, and his is the one taught in universities and schools these days.

  15. pearl says:

I don’t agree that thinkers are smarter than feelers because feelers go through twice the analyzing when making a decision, personally I’ve come to the conclusion that feelings are clearly part of us for a reason and therefore should be thoroughly considered when making a decision in order to make the best possible decision. Being a feeler doesn’t mean you don’t make rational decisions it just means you are considerate of others feelings when making a decision as well as using logic, unlike thinkers who tend to go right through the logic and then mafke the decision feelers take an extra step. Personally this is what I do, i’m sure some people are overemotional and unlogical but in general being a thinker doesn’t make you smarter at all- therefore considering feelers have the ability to take decision making to a further analyzed level I beleive that infj are the smartest in a general sense, not in an informational sense but in a skillset sense.

    • tatl33 says:

I guess it is more like, if you were faced with an IQ test (which is the sort of intelligence I’m talking about here- even though of course, there are many forms of intelligence- I am talking about the traditional type), thinkers prioritise/are naturally adapted at dealing with logic as opposed to us feeling types 😛

  16. hmm says:

This is embarrassing and shows how pathetically narcissistic INTPs are. Just because an INTJ is more organized does not mean they don’t theorize. The INTJs I know are constantly theorizing–many theorize more than they do, What separates them from the average P is that they see things clearly enough that they could stop theorizing and actually do something if they wanted to.This makes them just as intelligent, abstract, and creative as an INTP, but also more efficient. If intelligence measures the ability to learn, then it would behoove the reputation of INTPs and their fragile egos to learn how to apply what they know. I hate to generalize but I have known a lot of INTPS and ever single one of them was an egocentric, wannabe Descartes who had little to say that wasn’t trite, but they were too into themselves to realize how delusional they sound.

I agree that INFJs are underrated and make up some of the deepest and most intelligent people.
Another factor people seem to forget is that most people are not 100% I or 100% T. Many people are on the cusp of J and P or S and N. I think people cling to their type as a label too strongly and feel the need to defend it like it’s the best thing since bread. I think if you try so desperately to prove your type is the most intelligent it reflects the insecurity that prompted you to start taking and depending on these Internet personality tests anyway.

    • tatl33 says:

Haha, I’m actually an INFJ so I’m not trying to prove my type is the most intelligent 😛 I would agree with a lot of what you are saying, although I think you are making it into a bigger deal than it is- this is just a blog entry after all!

    • Really? says:

How foolish you are! To generalize like that! Your comment is subjective and seems to based on YOUR personal experiences with the various MBTI personality types. Be objective, dear “hmmm”. Why not be a bit more detached in your analysis of this badly written article (which I may add – states no proof of any Scientific or factual evidence.)

The author isn’t even an INTP! And even if she/he was, were they not ‘rooting’ in the direction of INTJ?
‘Intelligence’ is an incredibly abstract topic and requires careful analysis, depending on the type of ‘Intelligence’ you are referring to, in this case, I am guessing, is aimed generally at the field of academica. There are theories of ‘Multuple types of intelligence’. Did you know?
Your comment was obviously written in a fit of emotional tumult as you state how you find INTPs: ’embarrassing and shows how perfectly narcissistic INTPs are’. I really hope you were making use of figurative language, a Hyperbole, and really not let subjective opinions colour your thought process. ALL INTPS must be so vain and think they are intellectually superior, right? Because you think so? Right.

      Have a good day,
Sincerely, a 13 year old INTP.

      • tatl33 says:

Hahaha, thank you 13 year old INTP 😉 You seem to have an extremely wide knowledge of MBTI and intelligence theories of psychology. Where did you learn all this? 🙂

I am trying to to refrain from making crass assumptions; that is to say if if my assumptions would be considered crass at all, but I get the implication that you are very biased and find it inherently impossible to draw logical or objective conclusions that are free from your own emotions.

You seem to have this pre-fabricated idea that INTJs or XXNJs in general are somehow intellectually superior to other types, specifically INTPs. This is evidenced by:
          1) This article.
          2) A thread on Personalitycafe.com, in which INTPs and INTJs were being compared in terms of thinking ability. (INTPs won the poll.)

Assuming this is you who wrote the comment above, ofcourse, this only strengthens my aforementioned hypothesis about you, that you are, inherently biased and find it difficult to draw objective conclusions.

“Let’s start by figuring out the type via the letters.”
To me, starting with “Let’s start by” sends out the idea that that you are going to further break down your theory by using the Jungian cognitive functions (which you did not do). I think you should try to choose your words with more precision. Although, this could be an error on my part, considering interpreting a statement can be hard on the internet. Albert Mehrabian, author of Silent Messages, conducted many studies on nonverbal communication. He found that:
          – 7% of speeh is conveyed through words
          – 38% through vocal elements
          – 55% via nonverbal elements (body language, facial expressions etc)
So like I said, it is hard to interpret what you are trying to send out. This is written communication, after all, not oral, verbal or non-verbal communication.
I think using the 4 dichotomies was your mistake, as they give us very limited information about the 16 personality types. Since you are in search of ‘the most intelligent type’ I think it would have served you better to use the cognitive functions, which are:
Ti, Te, Ni, Ne, Si, Se, Fi, Fe.

“Finally, judgers are regarded as more intelligent as they spend more time focusing on the future than perceivers, and organization certainly helps when trying to learn new things.”

Going by this logic, either ISTPs or INTPs would be considered the ‘most intelligent type’.
In fact, since you favour iNtuition (as you stated in your passage), INTPs would be ‘the most intelligent type’!
INTJs have Ni as their leading function. Ni is an introverted PERCIEVING function. It is not a JUDGING function. This illustrates the importance of the functions.

“have far more time to think about serious issues which help to develop a high level of intelligence.” (said of introverts).

Not necessarily. You are ignoring the possibilities. I think extroverts are also quite capable of thinking about “serious issues”.

“Secondly, intuitive types spend more time thinking about deeper issues and analytical things, which is not done by sensors”
I also think that sensors can think about “deeper issues and analytical things” even if, admittedly, and speaking in sweeping generalities, I think iNtuitives are more likely to do so.

“Yes, and they would also be deemed more intelligent, whether this should be socially accepted or not. ”
If it were not deemed socially acceptable that they were intelligent, then by what standards do you think their mental capabilities would be judged?

“This article has proven that INTJ’s are regarded as the most intelligent type. INTJ’s are the type that discover new advancements in science, maths, etc. so it makes a lot of sense that they are regarded as the most intelligent.”

No, it has not proven that INTJs are regarded as the most intelligent type. INTJs are not the only type capable of discovering advancements in Science, Mathematics, etc. I think this article is logically flawed, and as such, does not make alot of sense. It is your opinion that INTJs are regarded as ‘the most intelligent type’. I also do not recall Sir Isacc Newton ever taking an MBTI test, although, judging his character and works, I think it would universally be agreed on that he is indeed an INTJ.

“Let me start off by saying, I do not believe that personality types has a huge play in deciding how intelligent you are. I believe genetics and environmental factors are the main influences on intelligence, although..”

Yet, here you are, basing the intelligence of the masses and of individuals using pseudo-science, in this case, pseudo-psychology. It is very much a contradiction to state that you believe in the validity of scientific findings, only to state later in the continuation of the above sentence that you have faith in a tool whose aim is to try to classify human behavior and thinking with principals based on the work of Carl Gustav Jung and Isabel Myers Briggs. Ofcourse, one can dip into both subjects?

On a personal note, I would like to state that:
-Being a specific type does not ensure that you will be labeled “Intelligent”, speaking in the conventional definiton of intelligence itself.
Intelligence (in what I assume you meant, from your passage) can be defined as:
          a) the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills
          b) Intelligence has been defined in many different ways such as in terms of one’s capacity for logic, abstract thought, understanding, self-awareness, communication, learning, emotional knowledge, memory, planning, creativity and problem solving. It can also be more generally described as the ability to perceive information and retain it as knowledge for applying to itself or other instances of knowledge or information, thereby creating referable understanding models of any size, density, or complexity, due to any conscious or subconscious imposed will or instruction to do so.

          – Intelligence seems to be independent of MBTI ALTHOUGH going off of the premise that intelligence can’t be quantified doesn’t mean that such distinctions shouldn’t exist, at least in some form.

          – Which types are considered the most intelligent, I may leave for another comment, assuming, ofcourse, such distinctions exist.

Sincerely, a now, 14 year old INTP.

            P.S
And also, must I take this as an implication that ESFPs are stupid? Considering that you think INTJs are mentally superior… one can only draw that conclusion.

            (Deductive) Logical explanation:
INTJs are considered the smartest type by Tatl33.
            ESFPs are INTJs’ opposite type.
Therefore, it is logical to conclude that ESFPs are considered the most stupid type by Tatl33.

“Haha, I’m actually an INFJ so I’m not trying to prove my type is the most intelligent 😛 I would agree with a lot of what you are saying, although I think you are making it into a bigger deal than it is- this is just a blog entry after all!”

Ofcourse you would not be directly saying that INFJs are ‘the most intelligent’, but again, I would understand why people would get that implication.

            INFJ:Ni, Fe, Ti, Se respectively.
INTJ: Ni, Te, Fi, Se respectively.
They both share half of the same functions: Dominant Ni, and Inferior Se. Take from that what you may.

You are free to think that people are making it into a big deal, but, what did you expect? You make such a generalised, illogical proclamation and expect people (especially other NTs) not too? And I should think, that the fact that it is a blog entry would prompt you to put much more thought and effort into your writing, considering that it would be put on the web (a computer network where people of multiple geographical locations can see and make comments).

” Although this is a controversy question”
No, it is a *controversial question.
The rest of your blog is entertaining, nonetheless.

I think the article isn’t off by much. Though I’d argue that both INTJ and INFJ are the most intelligent types out there. They are similar in that they think deeply about things in setting goals or making plans. They process huge amounts of information and analyze every possibility and related concepts before deciding to go forward with anything. They’re different in what they focus and in what naturally interests them. INTJ is interested in stationary objects that can be measured in space. INFJ is interested in moving subjects that can be measured in time. This is my way of putting it, and I understand this isn’t exact science, but I still use it as a way to roughly divide the different interests of the two.

I’d add that INFJ at a younger age can come across as less intelligent than INTJ. They can sometimes be entangled in irrelevant causes, rely less on facts and more on their intuition, and can easily become hurt, stubborn, and biased in dealing with people whom they understand better than any other type. With time, those INFJ who really mature and develop strong thinking skills and adhere strictly to objective criteria in judging matters can be much more intelligent than INTJ, having the added gift of understanding people and events in which people are involved.

    • Depends on what types of intelligence. If about testing, experiments, scientific, then yes INTJ in general. If about reading people, even controlling people, then INFJ. And if theory, concept, definition, system then INTP

Basically intps are good at spitballing 1001 ideas per minute, abstraction and hypotheticals whilst INTJ are good with the more concrete things

  19. Jamie says:

Everywhere else says that “P” is favoured over “J” when measuring intelligence in mbti? So it would go:
    Intp
    Intj
    Infp
    Infj

  20. derek says:

Judgement kills creativity. P’s are more apt to creativity than J’s, and creativity is that which separates humans from animals. We regularly regard animals with more creative ability such as chimps, dolphins and orcas as more intelligent than other animals. Also Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, Franklin, Socrates, Lincoln, Darwin, Emanuel Kant, Descartes, and many more of the greatest thinkers in the world were P’s not J’s. I would say that I holds higher intelligence than E, N higher than S, T higher than F and P higher than J. Thus the most intelligent type of all INTP then ENTP… J’s rule a world created by P’s

  21. Turnip says:

Why would “keeping your feelings out of decisions” make you more intelligent? Wouldn’t it essentially make you blind?

  22. Luis says:

Sir isaac newton is an intp

    • Nobody says:

Even though I am an INTP I would rather him be a J. Look him up; he was a complete jerk to most, if not all, intellectuals of the time.

I’ve just recently stumbled upon my personality type, and it was an extremely insightful experience.

Before I had even read what the results had meant, I was already at google scholars searching for Jung’s original papers 😛 He pegs me with frightening accuracy…

  24. neshiv says:

I think people with extremely high intelligence tend to act more like ENTPs (socially).
Statistically INTP then INTJ score the higher on IQ test.
Don’t forget that Iq measure 1/7th of intelligence.
I think INTP and ENTP tend to have a global intelligence more developed than any of the other type despite the fact ENTP score less than INTP , INTJ, INFP and INFJ (statistically)

  25. You're a fucking retard. says:

I want to slap you so hard in the face. You are so quick to say that INTPs are intellectually inferior to INTJs. Sure, the INTX is much more intellectually superior than the other fourteen personalities, this is given. Go into more depth with your comparison of INTPs and INTJs.

  26. As you said first, this classification for intelligence can NOT be at all a complete basis to decide whether we are intelligent or crazy people… each personality represents a kind of intelligence that will beat or exceed all other kinds of personalities, you have mentioned an example of chess game between a sensor and initiative, what about a challenge for describing a physical appearance for a person or an object between sensor and intuitive? who will beat the other? sure as i know, the sensor will have more intelligence and ability using his memory and attention to details, and that is considered as an intelligence, not only the analytic and logical one.

Here is some scietific research about this topic folks. Study is about correlation between MBTI type and score at 15 question Visual Pattern Intelligence Test.

INTP has slightly better ranking of gifted individuals vs stupid individuals ratio than INTJ.
INTP is first of all types and INTJ is second.
So it is some hint about this INTP vs INTJ war on this forum.
    Im INTJ myself,
    Have a nice day. 😉

      THANK YOU!
INTJs can be so blind to truth when it is against their cause, but as INTP I cannot stand their incorrectness even to spare their fragile ego!! I dont want to be arrogant but its just NOT TRUE that INTJ is definitely more intelligent than INTP. You should intuitively know Perception is more correlated with traditional meaning of intelligence than judgement.
Also it would be fair to say INTPs has higher score in intellect, but INTJs have higher academic grades. There is a difference.

  28. M M says:

I agree that INTJs are often highly intelligent, however so are INTPs, INFPs and INFJs. I am in Mensa and it is loaded with INTJs and INTPs.

  29. Lindsay says:

It’s funny that so many J’s are down voting the P’s,
But just because J’s can plan out doesn’t mean they’re able to adpat like P’s can. Being disorganized doesn’t mean they’re dumber, it means that you can’t keep up with what’s going on with them. That’s your problem, not theirs.

  31. Daniel Stark says:

Just to be clear, there is no such thing as the “most intelligent type.” Intelligence has nothing to do with MBTI. Depending on how you judge intelligence, everybody will be more or less intelligent than other people.

  32. There was actually a study done that states that the majority of gifted people are in fact INTPs. Here’s the link: http://sengifted.org/archives/articles/a-synthesis-of-research-on-psychological-types-of-gifted-adolescents

introverts are more likely to be intelligent than extroverts, as introverts spend more time figuring things out whilst extroverts don’t have the time or concentration to focus on these things. Introverts prefer to get their energy internally, and hence have far more time to think about serious issues which help to develop a high level of intelligence.

A serious problem that there is much more time to think about

I was gonna read all the comments, but noticing all the drama, I kind of skimmed through, please forgive me if I say something already said
Common knowledge being that intelligence is measured by creativity, it’s wise to say that intuition will be smarter than sensing, no?
Forgive me for not being able to provide a link, but a while back I read a most intriguing article, stating that the ENTP, INTP, INFP and ENFP are the most, in fact, intelligent. What the four have in common are their Ne and Si.
Despite popular belief, I believe that Ne possesses greater intelligence than Ni (however, that was said stereotypically, i’m sure there are people out there with Ni who are smarter than those with Ne).
From what the article explained, Ne is most likely to rely on their overall intuition, while Ni will instinctively want to pace through the evidence and research before concluding.
As for the Si vs Se, I wouldn’t be able to say, I haven’t done much research on that topic yet 🙂
Now, what i’m about to say is grounded by my own observance and thoughts, so forgive me if i’m wrong, but I find the INTP and INFP to perhaps be more intelligent than their extroverted cousins, since their Ne is filtered through their Fi or Ti. Then again, that’s just my two cents, i’m probably wrong about this whole thing, terribly sorry

I agree with the conclusion by tatl33! This is my story. INTJ’s are arrogant basterd’s, the people i realy dont like! On the other hand, INTP’s are friendly, but lazy as fu**. I know both guys, and they have their negative sides. INTJ on the first appear is little funny. You can easy spot them. But, i realy get little scared of his presence. He is the coldest person i know, and he know everything about my characteristics, and of the all our class. He know what i want to do when im angry or sad. He talking about some sh*t i realy cant get to my mind. However, i realy dont want! INTP is computer maniac. The whole day he spent at the home, playing video games or listening some idiotic rap music. He was a good at school, much more better than me and even INTJ (I realy dont know what is in INTJ head, but he told me that school is place for “manipulation” for children to be “useful idiot’s” by the government!) I realy hate one serious f***** thing in INTP guy! He love to lie! He acting most of time spending with me (ISTP) and it is transparent! If he don’t like to be with me, he can be honest, but i realy dont know why he doing that. I dont want to generalize on the INTJ or INTP, but this is my experiance. INTJ know much better people and their psyche. They can quickly predict the future of ANY but f******ANY job or person. Back then, we were 16 and this guy could easy lead a country, if someone asking me! Shame that he was hated by majority. If he wanted to choose firends and weit for someone of his style, that is not a reason to be isolated from anyone else. That is what i hate for INTJ. XNTJ’s need’s to be on the top of leadership. They know the best what is need to be done! They see the big picture! XNTP’s can only bring interesting debate, but nothing seriously for the community, or it is just me? They are good for parties and sport (i have played basketball with I I didnt meet ENTP, but i think they are similar to INTP!

You have a very small data group. Two people is not enough to come to a decision about a community of people.

  40. INTJs are organized but too much busy & boring (Describing my INTJ friend)…. I am an INTP & I really enjoy making him distressed about his social insecurities just to see how he reacts which really makes him feel intimidated & raise his defenses. I like playing with his insecurities. Typical of a sociopath like me!
I’m trying to imply that MBTI types are not alone a criterion in determining intelligence or rational competency…. It depends on the person as an individual. Their preferences may be objectively justified, but minute subjective preferences will vary from person to person!
