This is a question that is easily answered. The ISTP is known for it’s ability to understand how complicated things work which many other types fail to understand. This is due to their dominant function, introverted thinking, allowing them to think about how to solve the problem in a logical matter, whilst using their extroverted sensing to observe the environment and the various aspects of the machine. Introversion is required to allow the ISTP to patiently investigate and thoroughly rationalize the various parts of machines which many extroverts don’t have the patience or ability to do. Sensing allows ISTP’s to explore in greater detail the various aspects of the machine that are important. Thirdly, thinking is required as machines are logically structured, therefore a huge amount of rationality is needed to fully understand how they work. Finally, perceiving is required, as this allows for patient observation rather than immediate decision making, a key ability that is required to fully understand and utilize machines. Therefore, ISTP’s are the type that are most likely to understand the way machines work the most thoroughly.
