Serious: “Complete lack in playfullness.”
Now you may have read the other blog entry, Which MBTI Type is the most serious? This question is somewhat similar to that entry. Well this question really comes down to more than just an MBTI type, however, as always I will answer this question from a general perspective. On average, the MBTI type that appears to be most serious would be ISTJ’s. However, this is up for debate, and the reasons behind this opinion will be discussed in greater detail.
Introverts most definetely appear more serious than extroverts. Introverts are often mistaken as the serious type, who don’t feel like chatting- they are too busy doing their serious work. Although many extroverts can appear more serious, (due to the fact they can be bossing others around to work harder) introverts are more likely to appear serious due to the more quite and less friendly appearance.
Sensors are seen as more serious than intuitive people. Sensors are rule followers, who don’t take risks like those with strong intuition. Sensors are also more down to earth and they are more logic in their work. This also gives them the appearance that they are serious.
This part was by far the most tricky to evaluate. However, feelers appear to be more kind and happy, due to the fact that they have a warm nature attitude towards life which thinkers lack. This makes them appear less serious than thinkers.
Finally, judgers are more serious than perceivers. Judgers are far less risky and spend a great deal of time worrying about security and less time about relaxing which makes them appear more cautious, and therefore serious.
From this information, it is clear that the ISTJ’S are the most serious, just as they were the most boring. However, they are still great people to hang out with, and we need to accept that this is part of their personality.
